While it looks into the circumstances surrounding how a decorative helicopter dropped from the park’s ceiling on in February and plunged into the pool below, injuring four visitors, the state has ordered the DreamWorks Water Park at American Dream to remain closed.

Lisa Ryan, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, stated that the state organization’s construction office had sent a “notice of unsafe operations” to the “structure housing the water park.”

“An order to cease operations” had been given by the agency’s Amusement Ride Safety Unit to the water park, according to Ryan, “until all investigations are complete, all relevant third party inspection reports and supporting documentation have been received and reviewed, and a determination into the cause of the failure can be assessed.”

The length of the park’s closure is still unknown. Ryan stated that she was unsure of the length of the review. DreamWorks will be closed while an investigation is conducted, said to American Dream spokesperson Jessica Griffin. However, she added that the rest of the East Rutherford mall and its attractions will remain open.

Griffin stated in a statement sent through email that “the safety of our guests is our highest priority.” “All necessary security precautions have been taken, and the park is locked up while the investigation is ongoing. Our guest services staff is also on-site to help guests whose visits were impacted by the incident.
